Man visits Marks & Spencer foodhall with £5 in his pocket to see what he can buy

Nothing beats a stroll through the aisles of Marks & Spencer, with shoppers always finding something new to rave about. Nevertheless, one customer was determined to visit the beloved Merthyr Tydfil store for a crucial mission - discovering what treasures he could secure with just a fiver.

Christopher Lee Evans, a Welsh social media star with more than 40,000 TikTok followers, creates various experimental content filmed across Wales. His latest venture was straightforward, though he suspected it would be "unlikely", as he aimed to discover whether he could obtain a three-course feast for £5.00 at Marks & Spencer (M&S).

Given the abundance of retail challenges circulating nowadays, it's hardly shocking that Christopher embraced such an ambitious quest. Recently, another individual visited multiple supermarkets to sample and compare different yoghurts.

Throughout the clip, Christopher explored different sections to discover what he could purchase for merely £5.00. As anticipated, locating suitable ingredients for a three-course spread proved exceptionally demanding.

A single beverage cost £4.00 on its own, prompting him to declare he "can't cope", doubting his ability to accomplish the mission. He remarked: "Guys, I don't think I'm going to get anything in here.

"It's just not going to work." He then jested: "I'm going to have to starve tonight."

He went on: "The ready meals are really stuns, but they are literally blowing the three-course meal. I can't even afford the seasoning.

"£1.40 for mousse. I'm going to have to get it. I think I'm just going to have to get a tray of salad for tonight. These challenges are getting utterly ridiculous."

Next, he's seen popping a cucumber into his basket, suggesting it could serve as a starter. He also grabbed some crisp bakes for his main course.

A cloudy lemonade was another addition to his shopping haul. All told, he had to shell out £5.55 for the food items, which wasn't too much over his budget.

Although he conceded it "wasn't bad", he did chuckle at the absurdity of the challenge. Since the video was posted, it's racked up over 2,000 views and plenty of comments.

While some found the challenge amusing, others offered their own suggestions. One quipped: "You can get so much for £5.00 in M&S."

Another chimed in with: "At least you tried." A third responded: "You really did well there Chris. Some of the food in there is great value. I love it."

Christopher confessed his fondness for M&S, but admitted he'd set himself a tough task. Meanwhile, a fourth remarked: "You crack up me. Knew M&S would be a challenge. You should try and do it in a corner shop."

Another added their two cents with: "You could have definitely done better than that. M&S have some really reasonable stuff and they always have yellow stickers."
